Our Services
At BAWA (Belgaum Animal Welfare Association), our activities are focused around four pillars that assist us in developing a more secure, compassionate environment for the animals in our community.
Treatment & Rehabilitation
We operate with a dedicated team to provide emergency response, medical treatment, and long-term rehabilitation. Animals are treated for injuries, infections, and trauma, and provided post-op care, nourishment, and therapy until they recover. Our facility is equipped with basic veterinary care infrastructure, and we also collaborate with partner clinics for surgeries and diagnostics.

Awareness Campaigns
Educating the community is central to our mission. We host seminars, workshops, awareness rallies, and digital campaigns to educate citizens about animal rights, legal responsibilities, and compassion. Our school programs introduce children to basic animal care and the ethics of kindness. We also engage local communities in street plays and interactive events to spread our message widely.

Adoption & Foster Programs
We promote responsible adoption and foster care through well-structured programs. Every animal is health-screened, vaccinated, and behaviorally assessed before adoption. We ensure compatibility between adopter and animal through counseling sessions. Foster care provides animals temporary shelter, increasing their chances of permanent adoption. We train and guide fosters to care responsibly.

Promoting Proper Care for Strays
We train residents and feeders on best practices to care for stray animals: responsible feeding, wound cleaning, shelter construction, monitoring health, and avoiding overfeeding. We provide kits and educational materials and help communities set up first-aid boxes and feeding points. We empower local champions to lead the movement from within.

Sterilization and Vaccination
Controlling the stray population is crucial. We plan to run routine spay/neuter drives and vaccination programs across urban and semi-urban areas. Our mobile veterinary team visits colonies with high stray populations and works closely with local feeders to track and manage animals.

Emergency Response & Rescue
Our helpline operates 24/7. Upon receiving a distress call, our trained team evaluates the urgency, deploys the rescue vehicle, and ensures immediate transport of the animal to the nearest care center. We handle road accidents, poisoned animals, abandoned pets, and cruelty cases. Every rescue is documented and followed up until full recovery. We also assist in wildlife rescue in collaboration with the forest department.
